Reisetagebuch Chile: Vertrauen ins Universum
Und ganz spontan dachte: Was soll's. Spanien also.
Nimm einfach wahr, was dein Bauchgefühl schon weiß.
Sometimes things don’t turn out the way we planned. Before my internship in Concepción last year, I thought I had it all figured out: my future was in Germany. After those five months I went back, finished med school and kept building that future. But something felt off. So I started picturing a life in Chile instead.
I got all my documents ready for the Chilean medical exam and was just about to sign up when I went on vacation to Spain. And spontaneously thought: what the hell. I’m already spending a fortune getting everything translated into Spanish, I might as well go for it here too. You already know the rest from my first diary entry: within a day, the planner had made a decision without any plan. Spain it is.
What I didn’t tell you: for a while I went back and forth about still taking the exam in Chile. But in the end, I trusted my gut and chose Spain. For now. While getting my license recognized, I kept discovering new things I’d have to take care of. So I’m doing them, step by step. What else moving my whole life there involves? No idea yet. I haven’t done the research, partly because I’m excellent at procrastinating, and partly because there’s only so much paperwork a person can stomach at once.
Does this make me nervous? Yes. Have I started looking for actual jobs? No. Do I know where to start? Also no. Have I signed up for the Spanish exam? Yes. Have I started studying for it? Barely. Do I have any clue how to do any of this? Not really. Will I do it anyway? Absolutely.
Because I know it will work out somehow. If I stay in the right headspace and do the things I teach in my book and my course, there’s no way it won’t. When you trust the universe, the question stops being if it will work out and becomes how. And that’s part of the adventure.
Sometimes paths open up that we never could have imagined.
Try this :
Think of one decision you’ve been overanalyzing for a while. Close your eyes, take three slow breaths and ask yourself: If I already knew it would work out, what would I choose? Write down the first answer that comes up, in one sentence. You don’t have to act on it yet. Just notice what your gut already knows.
